Top CV Don’ts from YouGov

Survey giant YouGov were commissioned by GSM London to poll a load of important people and bring you the major don’ts of CV writing.
A huge 87% said spelling and grammatical mistakes are annoying, placing it top of the list of options given ahead of factors such as poor CV design and including too much personal information.
Here’s the full list of what senior decision makers found annoying, so you don’t fall at the first employment hurdle:

Spelling and/ or grammatical mistakes – 87%
Incorrect information (eg. wrong contact name) – 76%
Key information missing – 74%
Too long – 46%
Tone too informal/ casual – 44%
Poor design (eg. font and layout) – 39%
Too much personal information such as hobbies – 29%
Too short – 26%
Irrelevant experience or education – 24%
Image of the applicant – 13%
